Somato-Emotional Release

Unwinding the lower extremity

Somato-Emotional Release is a technique used in CranioSacral® therapy that enables the body to release its own tensions. By creating a resting state of the dural rhythm, one limb or even the total body begins to move on its own and "release" tensions and traumas that have been held in the body tissue, sometimes for many years. The trained therapists at Delmar PT help the patient process memories of incidents, traumas or stresses as this process unfolds. Somato-Emotional Release is also referred to as "unwinding."
